it was with sara and adam that i realized...i have now officially lived in oklahoma for one ENTIRE year! at times that seems crazy and i think to myself, "that can't be right." and yet, when i think of my kansas city send off party, the first day i arrived in stillwater, and truthfully...anything that occured in stillwater, it feels like it's been SEVERAL years! and because i love reminiscing so much...i think i'll reflect on some of the significant, or at least memorable moments of my first year as an okie:
arriving to my apartment in stillwater to find giant holes in the wall and no bedroom door
losing colleen and calling some poor guy's air force commander. (no actually, i still don't feel bad about that)
the cupid shuffle at joe's on a thursday night. vomit.
tremors...REALLY vomit.
the daily bus ride (where i was the only non-international student)
my job at university academic services...my saving grace
walking around the park filled with birds but being brave and doing it anyway before i went off on someone :)
THAT...was stillwater, oklahoma...and THAT is what feels like it was years ago. there was definately some growth in that place.
oklahoma city has not felt so long. in fact, it doesn't feel like i've lived here for nearly 8 months. (holy crap...stillwater was only 4 months?? it felt a HELL of a lot longer!) a recap on okc:
moving my stuff with emily in a giant rapist van. good thing i don't own much!
my apartment not being ready...therefore staying with the ichthus missions trip in a bunk house. talk about moving up in the world!
being at mercy hospital at FIVE AM. i don't miss that. i also may have gotten in a fight with a nurse....and a manager. but at least the manager fight was playful??
passing out at the dialysis center.
the dietitian freaking out on me and crying out the in the next room "I JUST CAN'T DO THIS ANYMORE!!"
discovering THE RINK! highlight of my life.
being terrified of clinicals...and the dietitians...and then charming their socks off :) well..most days i'm sure??
enjoying the friends i have made and getting to know their lives, their stories, and their passions.
there are many more memories, perhaps several more serious ones as well. this year has been filled with blessings, with difficulties, with loneliness, with JOY, and with constant companionship with my Lord Jesus. i want to thank all of you..my friends and family...for your support, your encouraging words, your visits(!), your understanding, and your UNwillingness to ever let me go. as one of my good friends moves from okc herself this week, my prayer is that i can be what you all have been to me. and that she will find someone in denver that will be what SHE has been to me. i adore you all.

I, my friend, adore YOU. What a fantastic recap of your year, and crazy life. I am proud of all you have done. And hopeful that I will see you again soon. And tired...but that has nothing to do with you. Keep on rocking the Okie world!
