a new year.

it's interesting that in my mind, august is what brings a new year. yes...i understand that this title is reserved strictly for the month of january, but because i am forever a student (hopefully no longer true this time next year), august feels more like the beginning than anything else.

classes start. fresh textbooks. new schedules. new teachers. classmates. friends. what will i commit to for this school year? (or more likely: what will i actually say no to?)

this year, however, feels much more significant than most. for several reasons. it's significant because i will remain in oklahoma. it is no longer that "one year and we'll see" mentality, but rather a time of truly settling in. finding a job. getting an ok license. volunteering at church. it's these things that, again, make me realize i do not live in the city i've forever called my home.

what else is significant? oh it could be the engagement of my best friends (!) i am thinking of my two bffs in particular, but there are several dear friends stepping into matrimony... more reasons to come to kc! it could also be the addition of a new family member (!) and the completion of my RD creditials.

i am excited for this new (school)year to take off. with classes starting tuesday, my RD exam in less than 3 weeks, and interviews starting this week...it really WILL be taking off. the Lord is working great things among us my friends. here in oklahoma city, back in kc, and all over the earth. as i pray for the Lord to reveal himself more and more to my city...i will be praying for yours. may our woven prayers over our designated cities blanket over one another. and may you be kept warm by the hope that is in Jesus.
