blogger makeover! i decided to spice things up a bit. i mean, basically it's day 2 of being home and i already feel like someone who is unemployed and stays home all day (minus the video games perhaps). it's not all bad. well i mean, it's not actualy bad at all. i knit. i read bounty hunter books. i dance around (alot). there are so many things that make me happy that i haven't experienced in the past 3 1/2 months. i've forgotten many of them so it's like opening a new gift to myself! not that i couldn't do some of these things in oklahoma, i just didn't. like leaving food network on all day and occasionally stopping my organizing party (another favorite thing) to watch a recipe and then adding it to my recipe box!! so fun!
p.s. speaking of the food network, has anyone ever heard of yj's snack shop in the crossroads district? it was featured on food network last night! i have to go! it has been there for 10 years...why haven't i heard of this!?
every time i come home i gain a new appreciation for kansas city. i've always wished i had more time to venture off and learn even more. and compile a list of places i love and would love to show off to visitors. my roommate and another friend from ok came to kc with me last weekend, but we didn't have a car so i could only show them the plaza..(okay and the tacky christmas house)...and i was bummed i couldn't show more. i mean, the plaza is awesome and has some neat history. but i like to think our city has more to show than shopping and eating. perhaps in these next 3 weeks of being home i will have the opportunity to visit the yj snack shop...and some other hidden treasures as well.
enjoy the snow!! speed sledding anoyone???
