random thursday thoughts.

today i have finally caught up on the many duties of my job here at university academic services. thus...time to blog.

i have many stories as of late. including:

how i was dooped into thinking we were dressing in costumes for a dinner party and dressed as a mad scientist...goggles, beaker, teased hair, and all. needless to say, it was memorable.

also, i spent my morning bus ride thinking about how symbolic and sentimental the bus is to me. every morning i leave my house and drive to the parking lot, where i park my car AND THEN get on a bus. at first i was annoyed by this process. now, i come to enjoy it. it's a couple minutes of doing nothing in the morning before being thrown into the day. it's also symbolic of my independence here. i have never known someone on the bus. i was never told by anyone about the bus system and had to figure it out on my own (not an easy task). so when i climb aboard the bus, take a seat, and just people watch the other passengers, i sometimes smile to myself. mostly because busses and the people on them are quite funny. although, i'm sure they think the same of me as i am the weird girl sitting in the back with a goofy smile.

another thought....
today is the first day of the blistering wind we know and hardly love at this time of the year. i don't actually love the sharp coldness hitting my face..but i love that it makes people's cheeks rosy and that it marks the time of year i get to pull out my beloved black puffy vest. nevermind that i look like i'm wearing a life jacket. it's freaking warm so get off my back.

today, i am missing this
