mallory suzanne.

today i realized that i have a new favorite thing: playing sleepover with my niece.

there's something about a three year old yelling "cock da doodle!" in your face that makes you realize that not much else in the world matters. i love spending time with mallory because she reminds me not to take everything so seriously.

i love that when she gets really tired she starts getting super worked up and talks a mile a minute. she is usually giving you a play by play of her entire day including the last 10 minutes that you were present for. for example:

"and den i ran down the tairs and you were sitting in the chair and i said 'tephanie! do you want to color a picture with me' and then you said 'yes i do!' and then we colored pictures of strawberries and you colored me and then mommy said i had to go to bed and then i marked on your shirt and then rudy barked and then..."

man it will be fun to have kids someday. but truthfully i love that i can be aunt teph and play, but i can leave the crying, the needed discipline, and the peed pants up to my sister. she's much better at it anyway. a friend and i were talking the other day about how it would be fun to write ourselves letters right now about how we want to parent our children. just with different thoughts or experiences between nieces, babysitting, random people in the mall, etc. it's a fun thought, but i'm guessing if i have kids i would never have time to read:)
